Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, 2013
I was very excited to take part in my first Royal Academy Summer Exhibition this year! Varnishing day was a joy and were made to feel incredibly special. Its the best exhibition private view that I have ever been to. We began by processing down Piccadilly (the road was closed for us) behind a steel band. This was followed by a church service in St Stephens and then the artists were treated to champagne and canapés in the main Royal Academy gallery. Even though my work was mounted so high on the wall in the exhibition that I doubted anyone could see more than a blue square, I have sold several prints already. People have told me that they bring binoculars to look at the work mounted on high!
